PC Help and Technical Support

The Sunland Village East Computer Club offers a wide range of services for the membership. One of the most appreciated is our technical support offered by our Help Group.

 "Help Sessions" are $15.00 and will be offered on Tuesday afternoons in January, Febuary , March and April between 1:00 and 3:00 PM on a First come - first serve basis. The sessions are held in the Training Facility and help will be provided for PC owners with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 computers.

 Examples of the types of assistance are:

• Advise on upgrading or buying a new computer
• Help with getting connected on the Internet
• Installation of memory (on the PC - not the Owner)
• Getting rid of unwanted/unneeded programs to speed up the computer
• Help with establishing an Email account
• Installation of licensed , Open Source, or Free programs
• Getting pictured from your camera and help organizing the pictures

What to bring to the help session:

1. SVE Residents + $15.00 cash

Not from Sunland Village East? Sorry no Service. This is a firm rule and your cooperation is appreciated.
 

2. For a laptop:

• laptop and power supply
• for program installation, or problems with a program.
  The CD of the program
• other devices you are having a problem with e.g.
  WiFi adapter, printer, etc
   

3. For a desktop:

• the CPU (the box) (the keyboard and mouse and monitor in the
  Training Facility can be used)
• for program installation, or problems with a program.
  The CD of the program
• other devices you are having a problem with e.g.
  WiFi adapter, printer, etc

The focus of these sessions is on fixing problems Members may be having. We do not help with Pirated programs and / or Operating system installations. Installations of Operating Systems are available, on scheduled basis, in your home.
