Posting Photo Instructions

Instructions for resizing photos to post on our website

In Microsoft Digital Image:

Bring up your photo into the workspace. 

Go to resize photo.

Click on circles until the Resolution circle is blank.

Change resolution to 96 pixels per inch.

Click on Resolution circle to lock in.

Go up to Image Size.  Make sure it says inches.

Type in 7.00 width X 5.00 Height for landscape style photo or, 5.00 X 7.00 for portrait style photo.

Don’t click any more circles – leave blank.

Make sure the Maintain Proportions is checked.

Click Done.

Click File – Save As.

Remove File name in box.

Type a simple, descriptive name for your photo, e.g. cow, girl, flower, creek, etc.  This is needed so that Joe can more easily find a particular photo later on.

Don’t use photo number supplied by your camera Photos must have a name.

After your short title, type .jpg  e.g.  cow.jpg   Make sure the file name below is set on jpg.

Click Save.

Close Digital Image

Open your E-Mail program.

Open blank E-Mail page.

Address to: joe.zagar@gmail.com

BCC to yourself

For Subject, put Photo SIG

In the body of the E-Mail, put

the original name of your photo.  E.g.  “Bossy Mooing in the Pasture”.

Joe will put your title with your photo.

Put the photographer’s name.  That’s you!

Click on the paper clip or whatever icon your program has for attachments.

Find your resized photo  cow.jpg    and click it to attach your photo to your E-Mail to Joe.

Click Send.

That’s All!

 

You may send up to three photos.  I put them each into a separate E-Mail. 

Please send your photos for us all to enjoy.  Let’s get those old ones off the site!
