Modifying Windows to help with your Vision
Problems

Use Windows Magnifier
- Click on START
- Go to PROGRAMS
- Go to ACCESSORIES
- Go to ACCESSIBILITY
- Click on MAGNIFIER
- A magnified image will appear at the top
of the screen. The size of the text and objects can be modified in this
magnified area.
OUTLOOK USERS
Change the font of New,
Forwarded and Replied to, e-mail Messages
1.
Open Outlook, on the TOOLS menu click OPTIONS then click the MAIL FORMAT
tab

Under Stationary And Fonts choose FONTS

Next to the when composing a new message box, the when replying and
forwarding box, and the when composing and reading plain text box click CHOOSE
FONT

Select the Options you want and click OK
Steps to change the color scheme and size of
the letters on the Desk Top in Windows operating systems
- Click the Start button
- Go to settings (or in XP Control Panel)
- Click Control Panel
- Double click Accessibility Options
- Click on Display
- Click on use High Contrast
- Click on Settings
- Under HIGH CONTRAST COLOR SCHEME click on
Custom
- Move to the window next to Custom and
click the down arrow to see more selections. Note: THE HIGH CONTRAST BLACK
(EXTRA LARGE) will give you a black background with extra large white letters
with the Icons displayed on your screen.
- Highlight the color scheme of your choice
and click
- Click OK at the bottom
- Click Apply
- Once the change occurs click OK
- You should now be back in control panel
- Close Control Panel and you are set
Change color and size of Pointer
- Click the START Button
- Go to Settings (XP users go directly to
Control Panel)
- Click Control Panel
- Double click on MOUSE
- Click on POINTERS
- In the SCHEME section, click on LARGE for
a large white pointer, click on INVERSE Large for a large black pointer
- Click Apply
- Click OK
- Close Control Panel
