Walt Handberry and Wife Jean have an extended family of 6 Children, 6 Grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren. They recently moved to their new home on East Naranja Ave having formerly lived in the Condo Section.

Walt retired from the Military after serving 29 years in both the Air Force, as a Staff Sergeant, and the Army, as Warrant Officer. Walt’s interest in flying drove him to complete pilot training at his own expense while in the Air Force, and he then transferred to the Army where he flew both Helicopters and Fixed Wing Aircraft. In addition he worked in Aerial Photography and also as a Disc Jockey on the AFRTS radio network and on a private station in Alamogordo NM.

After retiring from the Military Walt opened his own locksmith business and continuing his education, became both a Master Locksmith, and also Locksmith Instructor. It was while running his own business that Walt became interested in Computers, starting with a Radio Shack Model 2, and he has continued to upgrade with the times, until he currently has 4 computers in his home running XP Pro, with high speed internet and wireless connections.

Walt has been a member of SVECC since 1995 and has served in many capacities.

We are indeed fortunate to have him in our club. His background as an instructor, and radio announcer, stand him in good stead as he helps us with our computers
